Dear Bapu,
India has been independent for 73 years . A priceless gift which was fought and changed the entire nation. A lot of things have been changed since then Bapuji. Every time I read the history, of our country, there is only one question that runs my mind . How privileged I am to be part of this country, to be daughter of mother India. Things now are completely different when compared to 1940s. Our heads are held high as said by Rabindranath Tagore. Now we stand equally among everyone, the freedom which was snatched ago is now being worn as a pride of honor. But there is something I need to tell you Gandhiji.
Its development journey and over 73 years India has a marked significantly and reached many milestones. We have witnessed remarkable progress everywhere, be it agriculture field, economy sector, literacy, income, technology and what not? There had been a rapid increase in the area of agriculture. 1960 saw the green revolution, farmers became the strength for India . But deep down we know the life of farmers, we read suicidal attempts of farmers on news paper because of the unpayable debts, farmers succumbed to death. There is no proper enforcement of laws.
We saw rise in Indian economy, when you freed us from the Britishers. The freedom from slavery. People started working, employment sector saw a rise and fall of rupees but today there is gradual fall. Today’s youth stand aside without jobs in their hand. What has happened to education system? All they ask from students is the degree certificates instead of their skills.
Despite in the constitution, the lower caste are still deprived of the right to stand par equal. They are still looked down upon by the patriarchal society. The woman in this society are a meager piece of doll where they are being molested, harassed and raped, ruining their life. Can’t girls walk head held high, why is this nation curbing a life of its citizen.
Poverty has hit our country in a different range. There are still people starving all night, working all day just for one course of meal. Young homeless children are selling Indian flags on roadside in exchange of better future. It took us so many years for English people to leave this country, but 73 years of freedom from them has a changed a lot.
But parallel to these issues we are doing great in every way dear Bapuji . We as today’s youth has to bring the change. Change is the only constant that’s has to be brought. India is country which has seen the rise and fall of its land but today its growing incessantly as high as infinite sky.
India has also come a long way in terms of improving its human development indicators. Literacy rates have increased significantly. Independence brought dreams of not just individual, but also economic, social and political freedom. Seventy-three years later, these ideals have undergone a transformation
India, therefore, needs to encourage the citizen to serve the humanity, work for the justice, treat everybody equally, progress together and succeed together
Jai Hind Jai Bharat!!!
Yours truly
Indian Citizen
