Let us take a flashback !
One of my first memories,
with you was in class second.
The amount of crap
we pulled out each day was ridiculous.
The very first day itself you made me cry.
We became best of friends
In short span of time.
We grew up same
Same class,same bench,
We ended up in same
dance class,same music class.
Same water bottles,same tiny umbrellas
And guess what ,
even the lead pencil we bought was the same.
Remember the bicycle rides?
Going back home from school.
The race ?
Who would make it to the top of hill without a pause ?
We never went to cinema halls
But remember the horror movie
The one which we saw at my place?
We still regret watching it.
I remember when you made a visit
To my home after
I was being discharged from hospital.
My wounds healed the moment I saw you
I was over the moon.
We were this small, like young idiots
And now grown too big,put on weights.
We were not into pack of wolves
We always roared
Choose challenging, crossed paths.
You find my lie,
when you look deep into my eyes.
Our secrets are no more secrets,
We just pour them heart out.
Remember the day?
When you told me about your love
I was dumbstruck into amuse.
Yes, teachers were always
confused with our names.
They interchanged our names.
They called me with your name
and mine with yours.
We are such thick friends.
You remember those insignificant quarrels?
I was the one who would easily be pissed at !
But you never took it badly
You were so patient with me.
Through twist of fate
Our streams changed
Our colleges changed
You choose gym and I preferred yoga
But when we meet
We still are the same.
You always pushed
me to do the things that I loved
We danced together, sang together, played together like every best friend did.
Twelve years down the line and still more to go
I think we decided to be thick friends from our first meet itself.
We aren’t hanging out lately
But I swear ! When we meet,
We are the same ones like ages old
The talkative ones,
bursting into laughter for no reason
The surreal mixture of fun and devil behavior.
Only we could fix it.
Cheers to our friendship
